We make all of
our cakes, Italian Meringue buttercream, chocolate ganache, mousse,
lemon curd, and frostings from scratch in our licensed Ottawa bakery.
We do not use any mixes or artificial flavours in our cakes. We use
only top quality ingredients, fresh eggs, cream, and butter (no
margerine or shortening), pure Madagascan vanilla, Cacoa Barry
chocolate and Cacoa Barry cocoa. The only commercially made products
that we use are fondant and sugar paste (simply because good companies
that specialize in these products make them better than we can, and we
buy the top quality brands so they taste good).
cake design varies in the time required to create it. Some designs that
you request may cost our starting point price, while others will be far
more labour intensive and therefore cost more. We supply you with a
price quote once we have discussed the cake you would like for your
event and how many people it needs to serve. If you have a budget in
mind, please let us know and we will do our best to design your cake
around that budget. Cakes can be tiered, we can create sugar flowers,
cake jewellery, create fantastical fondant and sugar paste figures, or
we can sculpt your cake into just about anything. For weddings or large
events, a themed cake with co-ordinating cupcakes often work

Our cakes are 4 layer cakes, filled and frosted with
variations of buttercream, ganache or whipped cream fillings and
covered with ganache or buttercream or fondant - then decorated
cakes are supplied on a beautiful royal icing coated, ribboned board.
If elaborate decoration, fondant
covering, cake sculpting, additional tiering, cake jewellery,
handpainted plaques, hand made sugar decorations, sugar or fresh flowers are required for your
design, additional charges will apply. This is discussed with you when
you call to order.

Wedding cake servings are
generally cut smaller than the above sizes, therefore providing more
servings per cake.
For example - - 1" x 1" x 5" (5 cu. in) serving
size doubles our suggested serving size on our cakes.

Many flavours of cake, frosting and fillings can be incorporated into
our cakes. Please let us know if you would like something other than
what we have listed - we are happy to make any cake flavour or filling
you would like.
Please note: certain fillings and/or frostings or fondant will work
better than others in outdoor or heat sensitive locations as well as in
certain sculpted or tiered cakes. This is discussed with you when you
are requesting a quote.

I wanted to thank you for doing such a fabulous job on the cake for my
mother-in-law. It was not only beautiful, but it tasted wonderful -- I
think I have found my new favourite cake. If you can imagine, we did
not have a slice of cake or cupcake left. It was all eaten!

Well Kate...what a
phenomenal cake! It made the whole night really special! It was the
centerpiece of my party and people could NOT stop talking about it. I
felt like it needed protection like a priceless piece of art! Here are
some of the many comments I heard. amazing!, stunning! incredible, did
someone make that? Is it real?... my reply.... yes... but we only get
to eat it after I play it! I hated to cut it! I had to close my eyes
and it wasn't because I was making a wish. Everyone said it tasted like
food from the heavens!
I want you to know that I was absolutely thrilled with that cake
masterpiece. I got lots of photos, I am sure you have your own but I
will send them anyway. I managed to save the headstock and pick-ups and
I am freezing them for later....
